Waiter was great. However, or bill was 60$ for 2 people. The food was nothing fancy. The red potatoes were just boiled with Mrs dash on them. Due to the outrageous prices for lackluster food, we won't be back.

I just had to update my review after visiting here more recently (July 2014). I told my wife all about this place beforehand, and we stopped to eat here after an exhausting day on the island. It was later in the evening and not too crowded, but our server seemed overworked. She was friendly, but our service was substandard. They had live music (a guy singing regular country songs), and it was terrible. His mike was turned up way too high, and he never took a break at all in the 90 minutes we were in there. We were sitting rather far away, but any conversation we had was drowned out by the music. We were in there for much longer than we wanted, which was kind of irritating since our server disappeared halfway through. She was super friendly and enthusiastic at first, but I think she was just overworked. My wife was missing half her meal when it was delivered, so that took extra time for them to cook the rest. My burger was miserable. The bun was hard. They charge you $1.75 extra if you want fries instead of chips, so I took the chips. They were awful: super hard and stale. Next time I'm in Mackinaw, I'll be going somewhere else.

It wasn't bad overall the building was very cool everyone that visits writes their name on the wall, booth or wherever. The food was mediocre but the service was good, the nice waitress gave me directions to the beer store. 1 last thing I didn't really have a lot of options in this godforsaken town every dam thing started to close at like 8:30 on a June Friday night WTF ! Oh and HEY Mackinaw city stop trying to shove fudge and your 50,000 different flavors of popcorn up my ass and open some dam places to eat for the love of GOD.

We decided to give this place a try even after the negative reviews on Yelp since we wanted to give it a fair shot. I mean awesome location, cool rustic building, and seemingly standard bar food. What could go wrong? The service was sooooo slow! And not that many people were there so I'm not sure what the deal was. Our server was very friendly and I do give him credit because he was trying. First, they gave us a drink menu that was over a year old so nothing was actually on tap. We ordered the fried scallops for an appetizer and those were good so the food seemed like it would be promising. Then, I ordered what sounded like a good burger on the menu and it was literally the worst burger I've had in my life! The bun was falling apart (stale/old and not toasted) and the burger was chared with no flavor to anything. Just really bad! I couldn't even eat it. The chips were good though and I appreciate a bar that has malt vinegar on the tables waiting with the other condiments. I also felt so bad for our server because he had to run up and down the stairs anytime he went to get an order! Poor guy! They need to come up with a better system. Overall, cool place and view. Bad food and slow service! Maybe stop for a drink and an appetizer? But I wouldn't go further than that.

We've been here twice, our visits years apart. Both times I left feeling a little puzzled with my experience. The food is always good, cheese curds are the bomb. The staff is....lacking...something?! I don't know what it is. There's just a weird air in there, maybe because I'm an out of towner, I don't know. Good food with weird vibes. Not a bad experience by any means. Could improve a little in the friendliness department.

Nice place , fast service , but the food was so/so . We order a chowder soup = very good , the Dixie famous ribs was undone and the Longhorns burger not a good choise for me .I can't believe it that they charged 5.50$ for 2 Pepsi !!!!

  • Michael C.

I give our waiter four stars. He was attentive and humorous. I think it was a defensive reaction because the food is overpriced and not appealing. My pulled pork sandwich was cold and the pork was very dry. Tried more BBQ sauce but it didn't help. Wife had fish & chips. Tasted like the fryer oil needed to be changed. It was overpriced at 16.99. Then they charged .25 for coleslaw!! Not a smart business move from my perspective. Things might taste better after several beers but I won't be back to test that theory.

    (2)
  • Stacy E.

The burgers were definitely memorable- The Longhorn burger especially! Fun energetic atmosphere. Jennifer our server was thoughtful and delightful who wanted to be sure our experience was pleasant. Those who enjoy a hearty black bean dip will be disappointed ... It's mostly cream cheese with a few black beans mixed in. The manager explained it was their version and asked us what he could do to make us happy. 3 stars only because it would have been nice to see more vegetarian options.

Service very slow. Food was cold and bun was rock hard. Waitress didn't seem to care too much about the delay and messed up order. Brought wrong beer but still charged for it - and it was served very late. Kitchen messed up order too. Nice place but probably would only return for a drink at the bar.

We had a large group passing through on a motorcycle trip. A nice group but still big and a little rowdy. We were seated upstairs in a corner booth which was a little awkward for seating but we made it work. Our waitress was the best. She was patient and very on the ball with refills, she took care of everyone's request and got all the orders right. When the food came it was very good. Almost everyone ordered something different and was happy with their selection. I would come back again if I was in the area.

So so bad! It's unfortunate because the place is cute and is in a good location, they obviously use this as an excuse to serve horrible and overpriced food. The fish & chips were so overcooked that the fish was like rubber, hard to chew. The vegetables were clearly frozen and not even reheated well- cold and soggy. Other people in my party had different dishes, all with similarly bad reviews. As a nice kick in the teeth, we got to pay about $16/plate for this nearly inedible food. Seriously, we were so hungry and STILL couldn't make ourselves finish eating this food. Grr! Wish I would have remembered to check Yelp before deciding on a restaurant in Mackinaw City!

The lady at our hotel recommended Dixie Saloon, and I'll admit the menu looked appetizing. However, this is a corner location in the middle of a tourist trap! Everything is going to be priced up quite a bit! Wow! What a tourist trap. Nice looking place, with a great location and view, but the positives pretty much stop there. We had chosen to eat up the street and wanted to find a decent bar with some atmosphere, This place was gorgeous on the inside. However, no one met us at the door (for 5-7 minutes) then on my way to the bar I just stopped a girl and asked if we could seat ourselves. She said "sure" and walked on. This wasn't a big deal (I had a full belly, and a drink in me... was on vacation and in a good mood!) My bartender however, was none of the above. First we sat behind a huge pole (and almost got ignored... but I hailed her down, and she admittedly poured well). When a few people had left, we moved down the bar (out from behind the HUGE pole). The short female bartender still barely acknowledged us... but the guy sitting next to me chuckled as he told me they were treated the same, and had been behind the pole too. Then he paid and left the bar. Someone came to relieve the bartender for a bit, and she was delightful... addressed everyone at the bar... was quick in making drinks... and we would've stayed if she stayed behind the bar. However, she left and so did we. Although in my book this is a legitimate 3 stars (and we didn't have the food)... I'm going with the overall average rating of 2 stars because they didn't really do anything to show me it wasn't that.

Cold Beer and decent food. I think I would return solely for beer. Staff was not overly happy to see us... I'd rather take it down to Key Hole

So it was our first time in Mackinaw City, we had no idea where we should go for our first night out to dinner, we saw an ad in the newspaper and thought it looked like a nice and decent restaurant for our first night out. So when we got there, there was no one there to greet us, and we had to wait for at least 5-10 min to be seated. Our server didn't seem too enthused, and it took quite a while for him to take our orders. The order came out wrong and it took a while for home to come around for him to replace it. Our drinks were never filled and he seemed like he was never around when we needed him. The food was basically the only good thing about the restaurant. We wanted to order dessert but it took him forever because he was never around. After quite a while we finally got our bill, and before we could pay, he was already gone. We just left the money on the table and left. Overall it was an awful experience and we won't be going back.

We chose The Dixie Saloon because it looked like a fun place with a great location and the menu options looked good as well. The dining experience was doomed from the beginning. When we walked in the door we were greeted by two hostesses who were unwelcoming. They were shouting the names of people who were waiting for tables. There was no waiting area so we were standing in a stairwell where waiters and waitresses were climbing up and down the stairs with big trays of food. They acted very annoyed that several people were waiting in the stairwell. We felt badly for them but had nowhere else to stand. We were seated after 20 minutes. We ordered our drinks and waited a rather long time to get them. We asked for water to accompany the drinks and never got it. We ordered our food and waited over an hour to receive it. When we did get it, it was cold. The vegetable medley was clearly frozen and microwaved. My husband's prime rib was over cooked and served without au jus. My children ordered a grilled cheese which was the best tasting food item of the night. The waitress was not around to refill drinks or check on our food. After we got our check, it took at least 15-20 minutes to get our credit card back. This place was not worth the money!!!

I had a veggie burger that was burnt and cooked in grease from meat. We had gooey, white food remnants on the cups they gave us. The iced tea tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge and sucked in all the aromas of different foods. The waitress didn't know up from down. The wait was very long even though no one was in the restaurant. The chips and coleslaw were good... but otherwise, never again. Oh and they also were out of steak, meatloaf, and some other main dish items because their menu is in a "in between phase"... what? So if you change a menu then that means you can't be stocked with food on memorial day weekend?

Excellent service. Fish and chips very good. Fish sandwich good. Kids enjoyed their meal. Not sure why the low rating.

    (4)
  • Brian S.

Food was overpriced for what it was, OK, wife's steak was overcooked, they did correct but waited for it. Got scolded for dragging a stroller thru. Great location and setting though...

Oops, I guess I'm the wife. Yes I came here with my husband after we back from the island. They waitress was holding 8 plates at one time and I waited more then 30 minutes for mine. They missed items on my plate, and the waitress took it back to my table after I requested like 15 minutes after. For all the time we waited there, the singer was singing country music. It was the "COUNTRY ROAD" grabbed my attention first, because it was in a wired way and well I guess I might be the only Asian woman, and yes from China in that restaurant. There were two guys seated in the other table closed to us after we came in the restaurant, I bet the felt weird, too. I talked to my husband about the loud music that blocked all the other sound around me, and then the singer began to sing something sounds like a lot of "N Word". That was just a weird time in a good looking restaurant.

The place was packed, but we found seats at the bar right away. Bartenders (female) were very friendly and quick service. It was our first time to upper Michigan, and we wanted to try smoked white fish dip, which we ordered as an appetizer. I can't remember specifically, but if i recall it was $11+ for this appetizer. Not impressed at all. Actually, when we were finished, we asked if maybe they had given us a spinach dip instead (it was comparable to Friday's spinach dip). The next day on Mackinac Island, we decided to try another smoked fish dip at Huron Street Pub and Grill which used to be Patrick Sinclair's Irish Pub. It was MUCH BETTER as it had the consistency of tuna fish instead of just cream cheese. However, later in the week we stopped at Odawa's Fishery on S Huron. They had smoked white fish pate which was PERFECT as it had chunks of fish in it.

Stop for a drink, but don't bother with the food. Service fine, but the quality of the food was lousy for the three dishes we ordered: chicken wings, smoked whitefish dip, and fried perch sandwich. Our Michigander expert (30 years of visits to the Mackinac area) said the dip was among the worst he had seen. But then again, he said that there was no really good food around here. When there is live music, expect it to be loud.

  • Bob L.

Considering most of the food we had in Mackinac wasn't all that great, the reason this is getting 4 stars is because it was good compared to the other restaurants around it. In most areas, this restaurant would be a solid 3 stars, maybe even 2.5. The onion rings treated like they were dipped in Long John Silver's batter, which was good for me because I like them. The portion of perch I got was very generous, and pretty tasty. The waitress was doing great until she stopped at the table behind us and bs'd for 10 minutes about everything from where she went to school to what she wants to be when she grows up. The people at the table even apologized to her for keeping her for so long, to which she replied "oh its fine, we're slow anyway so there's not much going on." And kept talking another few minutes. All while our drinks were empty and we were waiting for our check. Again, sadly comparatively this was one of the better places to go. All over Mackinac the theme of the restaurants seemed to be "well, tourists need to eat no matter what, so who cares."

  • Jackie T.

Clean and looks appetizing. We had hamburgers And chips. Chips tastes burnt. Hamburgers were just okay. A little dry. But not too bad when you're starving. Service was horrible. Our waitress never came back to check on us or to give us refills While we were eating. She waited until we were all finished and I had to call her over to get a refill on my pop. It seemed like she was so happy we were finished this is now when she was attending to us to get rid of us. I made sure I wrote a note on our receipt for the bad service. I Just don't hand tips out to anybody. I work very hard for my money and believe tips should be earned and Not expected. Gave them a two for seating us right away

The reviews are right...skip this place. We ate here our first night in Mackinaw City. It looked like a cool place and we were exhausted and hungry. When we entered we were told we could sit wherever we liked. We decided to sit upstairs so we could overlook the lake, big mistake! Our server was so extremely slow and basically non-existent. It took at least a good 10 minutes before she even showed up to take our orders. The hostess happened to walk by before this and noticed we didn't have drinks so she took our drink order and brought the drinks out. The food really isn't anything special, and in my opinion, overpriced. We ordered chicken fingers and a salad plus 2 soft drinks and the total was around $40. There are a lot of other options in the area.

  • Scott S.

Ok, so I saw all the negative reviews prior to going here. When my "apparent" group of friends all decided without consulting me, that we'd all go to the Dixie, I was a bit reticent to tag along. We were up for the Zoo de Mac bike event, and I didn't really wish to have a mediocre meal the night before a 50 mile bicycle ride! I'll cut to the chase - I was surprised. Our large 15-person party was seated after a minor wait, our waitress brought our beers fairly quickly, and our orders came in without a delay - very smooth indeed. I ordered the Perch Dinner, after quizzing the waitress on what they had for fresh fish (only Perch and Walleye are fresh - aside from seasonals like smelt). I wanted Walleye, but she said they'd not gotten any in that morning - I appreciate the honesty. When my Perch dinner arrived, I couldn't believe how much they gave me - about 8 large size fillets of perch! That's a big portion. The breading was light and minimal, and nicely flavored, deep fried of course, but perfectly cooked. The coleslaw side was nice, but the side veggies (broccoli, carrot, etc - the usual) tasted like it'd been microwaved - yuk. I ate a few just to get some fiber! But, I was there primarily for the fish, not a plate of rabbit food. I can't speak for all those who had a rough go of it at the Dixie Saloon, but I have to say, that on that Friday night, the service + food were pretty darn good. Give this place a try, or a second chance at the very least. It's pretty good (if you order what's FRESH!)

  • Travis L.

This place just get dogged on Yelp for poor service and bad food but I can't say I experienced either of these. The food was great for the area I had a burger and they have some good Michigan beers on tap. We shared one of the dips as an appetizer and it was a great way to start the meal. The layout is pretty cool they have a second floor so you can get the view of the water. The only downside is the waitresses don't have a POS system upstairs so they have to walk downstairs every time to get you drinks, food or put your order in. I would say it's the best bar in the area so make sure to stop by in the evening for dinner.

Bartenders are super fun!! We visited here post Zoo-De-Mack ride and thankfully we finished the race quickly because the place got PACKED!!! Enjoyed our visit.

Awesome bar! Open during winter! Right next to the Lake! Serve strong drinks. It's a nice atmosphere, and everyone is friendly.

    (5)
  • Nicole L.

We went around lunch time with a group of about 9. The atmosphere is great with a very "Up North" vibe. It was probably my favorite part about the restaurant. Some people in my group had lots of fun adding to the years of writing on the walls. It also has a great view of the lake and the park. Our service was not good. Our food took over half an hour to come out. We also rarely saw the waitress for refills/questions. All the serving staff seemed pretty rude, not just our waitress. Reactions to the food ranged from pretty good (burgers, fish basket) to meh (chicken wrap, salmon). I ordered the chicken wrap and found it to be very drab. Definitely could of used more flavor. It was also a little on the expensive side. They do have a decent selection of beers from brewerys across Michigan.

  • Megan K.

I can't say much for service since we ordered take out. We ordered and picked it up within ten minutes. The fries were...Eh. I'm pretty sure they had been sitting out for a bit. The burgers...Meh. It was ok. I love bar burgers but these didn't do much for either one of us. It was the condiments that gave it the flavor. Too bad it's winter and our dinner options are really limited.

  • N V.

So I read a lot of negative reviews of Dixie's but at 2200 there aren't a whole lot of options. Fine dining and frills it is not, but the beer was cold, the server attentive and food was good. Overall I would recommend it for what it is: a bar with bar fare in a tourist town, that's decently priced.

Stopped at the Dixie Saloon on our bike trip across country. Nice place, beautiful building, reasonable prices, and very good local fish, Walleye and Perch.

Nice building. Over priced food. However the fish and chips is pretty good. Slow service. The kitchen makes a lot of mistakes.

Service stinks, waited a half an hour for drinks and silverware. Don't know about the food as we have not yet received it after being here an hour.

  • Travel U.

Poor dining experience. Besides the filthy windows (inside and out) and bathroom, the service was poor and food subpar. Burger was ordered medium and came out well done and dry. Onion rings were greasy. BBQ pork was decent but nothing to write home about. Chips and pickle were the best part of our meal. Server was not personable and never stopped to ask how everything was.

  • Anthony R.

I also don't understand the terrible reviews. Our server Mandy was an excellent waitress, the burgers ( the long horn, and pulled pork) that we ordered were amazing. great place and great food for the price. Also the wait staff was on point today getting our appetizer out of the kitchen in less than 10 Minuets and our food in less than 25. Great place!

    (5)
  • Sali C.

After boasts of the steaks, we ordered the ribeye- medium rare. It was at most 3/8" thick and well done. The veggies on side were cold. My wife got the whitefish. While it was a substantial portion, it was flavorless. For $60.00 I would never go back. The place is huge and waitresses are running up and down the stairs. Ours never asked how the meal was till we finally saw her to get a bill.

    (2)
  • Beth C.

Our waitress was very nice. Got here very early, like 4:45. Took 7-8 minutes for anyone to come to our table. They ran out of my beer mid-pour. Our appetizer came with the meal, and had NO black beans in it, although it was a black bean dip. NONE. The kids liked their meals fine, but you almost can't ruin chicken and fries. The pulled pork was pretty dry. Topped it with an OK BBQ sauce and it was fine, but still... Cool interior and beautiful view, but that's about all it had going for it. Not really impressed at all for our first meal in the city :(

  • Jeremy N.

Don't get the fish and chips!! Cold and chewy! No one seemed to even bat an eye, I shoulda listened to all the reviews about not eating them

  • Malkahn M.

White fish platter! Locally caught fresh daily. They offer several different was to make I choose Pan Fried... With French fries & mixed veggie. Very crowded and loud. But we got our seats in less than five minutes. But the rum and Coke's were outstanding. They were very large and strong! If you like that sort of drink. I definitely can't wait to come back again and try other stuff.

  • Pam B.

The bar area is cool (they make a good Bloody Mary) but if you're looking for good food you need to go somewhere else. The chicken in my salad looked and tasted like the pre-cut chicken you buy at the grocery store.

After a long day of sightseeing and shopping, we were ready for some food and drinks. I noticed this place immediately after we got off the boat from Schepler's ferry, right on the corner of Huron and Central street. The place is part bar part restaurant, with a clean cabin feel on the inside. Place is spacious, with lots of wood paneling and a cool bar area. We were seated and split the spinach dip appetizer and a hamburger. we both had booze as well, me a Manhattan and the BF had a beer. The drink prices were a bit high for me, but both came out pretty good. Fortunately, we were seated by the window. We got to overlook the Ferry area, which was quite nice since it had just rained and there was a rainbow outside. Our server was quite nice and everything went smoothly. I guess after hours, there's a DJ after 10 PM until 2 AM on Friday and Saturday nights if you are into that stuff. Not that we aren't, but it's just not that kind of trip for us! LOL. Overall we really had a good time here and would come back for dinner and drinks again. Prices are fair, it's centrally located and has some pretty good food and service.

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat lunch on a Sunday in August. We saw the Dixie Saloon and it is hard to miss in downtown Mackinaw City. A huge two story log cabin building. We went inside and it was crazy. People waiting everywhere, kids screaming, and hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed. The hostess stand isn't by the front door and instead you have to go past a few tables to get to it. A lot of people seemed confused on where to go and if people were waiting in line to put their name in or if they were waiting to get seated. We waited about 15 minutes to get seated and we were taken upstairs. Being upstairs was much nicer both the view and getting away from the madness of downstairs. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to our table. She had a couple more tables around the booths we were sitting in, but she still made sure to give each table attention. My husband and I both got burgers. I got a burger with grilled onions and some type of dressing they mix with the grilled onions. My husband got the Cowboy Burger and we both upgraded to onion rings. Onion rings were hot and good. However, my burger I ordered medium and it came out well-done. Also to get lettuce, tomato, and onion you have to "deluxe" it and this cost an extra .25 cents. Kind of cheap to me for doing that? How much does that really cost to add these veggies to the sandwich? The décor and wood was very nice and people have written all over the walls of the wood, so bring a sharpie if you would like to as well! Casual place seems good for families as there are ample seating and menu options. Pretty touristy and not so much a local hang out. Not sure we would eat back here again - might try a different place.

Worst service. Waited 10 minutes for a bartender to acknowledge our presence. Then my friend ordered vodka tonics and the bartender said "we don't do that" and walked away. After 10 more minutes, we finally got the chance to order again, and got our cocktails, then we were told we had to wait on the shots we ordered so he could go talk to a girl. Got the shots 12 minutes later. The bar was not busy whatsoever. Probably because the music was all 10 years old and awful. Never, ever waste your time or money at the Dixie Saloon.

We have been going to Mackinaw for many years now and have tried any number of restaurants. I can honestly say that I've never really been disappointed with any of them. Of course there's some we like better than others but none have left us with the literal and proverbial bad taste in our mouths that Dixie Saloon did. The food was bland and lukewarm. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The red potatoes we ordered were simply boiled and placed on the plate. No seasoning whatsoever. Something my 10 yr. old could have easily made. The spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was overcooked and served with a small portion of greasy chips. The waitress took 40 minutes to get the meals to our table. Never once did she come by and explain what was taking so long or apologize and offer to compensate in some way. My 10 year old son had waited a great deal of time to eat and ended up getting sick because of it. She then proceeded to leave us another 15 minutes and didn't return with the second drink my mother had ordered until our plates were completely clean and we had sat for another 10 minutes staring at her in an attempt to get her attention for the bill. At this point she actually had the nerve to make a joke about forgetting us, never asking about the food or whether we might actually want dessert. In twenty years I've only had one other occasion to leave a 10% tip in today was it. Frankly, I struggled to give even that. Don't bother. Go to the Keyhole or the Pancake House just down the street. Or even the Driftwood across the bridge in St Ignace, which is amazing. Less money, better food, and better service.

I don't understand why this Resturant has so few stars. I come here every year and the food and the view is amazing. I recommend the chicken fingers and honey mustard or one of the burgers.

Service was very good. Wait staff upbeat. Food not so much. Overcooked. Doubt the steak was really the advertised 12 oz. Ambiance good. Needs a better run kitchen and probably more wait staff.

Anyone giving this place less than 3 stars must be major nitpickers! I ordered the Auger and it was so delicious! I didn't even have to put A-1 steak sauce on it!!!! My girlfriend had ordered a half slab of ribs and I finished off a few of her ribs and they were also very delicious. The meat just fell off the bones! I love the rustic atmosphere and I'd highly suggest bringing a pen or Sharpie to leave your mark by where you're sitting as it seems that this is a practice that is encouraged instead of frowned upon.

The bar has a nice curb appeal but no substance as far as food goes. My husband ordered the Perch platter and it was so bland and my broiled Whitefish tasted old, it was barely mediocre.

This place is nothing but a tourist trap. The upstairs has the best view and was closed... really?!?! My smoked white fish came out with no seasoning, the vegetables were a frozen melody with no butter and no seasoning. My "baked potato" was just that. No butter, no sour cream, no cheese. I felt like I was on the bland diet!! I had to ask for something for the potato so I could eat it. The rotisory chicken was decently cooked and moist. The steak was also very good. My other friend got a different fish and hers was ok. However all the sides were gross. The roasted red skinned potatoes also had no seasoning. Not a fan and we all will not be back.

While this looks like such a cool place, save your money and go else where! We waited 90 min for a table for 6, after we seen a dozen booths open we decided to split up to speed the process up. The hostess did not get what we wanted to do at all! Even had to.get a second girl to try and understand we just wanted 2 booths instead. Finally we sit down to open the menu and see there is not a dinner under $25. I odered a steak/fries/salad. It was cooked perfect and was tasty. Not worth $25 but not horrible. Only reason I gave it 2 stars.

We came to the Dixie Saloon to get a quick bite to eat around 10pm. We had called before to make sure the kitchen was open and they ensured us the full menu was available until 11. Went in and sat for 8-10 minutes, made eye contact with 3 employees, and were never served! Terrible service!

We got into town and needed to grab a bite to eat before we checked in to our room. Food was less than appetizing. Husband had the chicken strips and they were so-so and I had a cobb salad. It was extremely disappointing. Bacon had a chemical taste...I barely ate any of it yet, the waitress never asked why I had hardly eaten any when I was eating my husbands fries with him. Maybe they figure they are a tourist location so, why have good food because people will come anyway as they don't know any better.

We enjoyed our stop here after the Bridge walk. My husband and I had a pint of Michigan beer and shared wings & the smoked fish dip - both were delicious. The bartender was very friendly & patiently answered all of our questions. A great stop when in Mackinaw City!

Onion rings came out cold and old. Server asked if I wanted fresh, I said yes, he never came back. He also only gave us silverware for two(4 eating) and never came back to refill our drinks. The next time he came by, he asked if we wanted desert....on another note the perch sandwich was decent.

Wow! What a tourist trap. Nice looking place, with a great location and view, but the positives pretty much stop there. Who is managing this place? We were told to seat ourselves and someone would come over with menus. They did, but only after we waited for 10 minutes. 5 minutes after that, someone gets us silverware and tells us our waitress will be there soon. Another 5 minutes or so go by and she finally shows up and takes our drink orders -- and our meal orders since we've already had lots of time to look at the menu. When were were finally waited on there was no apology for the wait and no enthusiasm. We contemplated bailing on the place before even ordering because the prices were pretty expensive, but we had just spent 9 hours in the car and were starving. Since the place seemed pretty slow we decided to stay there, in hindsight we should have just left. The food was below average. So much of it was obviously frozen and served lukewarm. The food took almost 30 minutes to get out to us and there was no reason for it. The place was NOT busy and there was plenty of staff to go around. We had 5 people in our party. When the food finally did get to us it was lukewarm to cold. How does this happen? I will never go back here.

Believe the reviews... The exterior of the building is very nice and the inside has a nice log cabin feel minus the carvings on the table and writing on the wall. My family sat upstairs and the service was absolutely horrible. It took an hour from walking in to receiving our food. The food wasn't even warm either! All the meat on our sandwiches was cold and the melted cheese had hardes it had been that long. Our server even had the nerve to lie to us and say that it had just come off the grill too! Took another 15 min to get new warm food. When we finally we able to eat the food was average at best. The chicken sandwich was alright but someone else in my family said the veggie burger was good but not worth the wait. Don't let the log cabin look fool you, avoid this place as the service is horrible and the food is average at best. Also the public bathrooms in this place were not the cleanest either.

If you want a drink, ok. If you want food, don't go. I was fooled by the outside appearance and the inside decor. I thought this would be a good place for the family to eat, but it wasn't . The food was bad all around. Overlooked, dry and cold. Our server was good, but the food was disgusting. What is worse is that you pay top drawer resort pricing for below average food. I wish the the owners in MC cared about serving good food.

Avoid. Overpriced, underwhelming bar food severed by unenthusiastic servers. Waited twenty minutes for a simple beer refill. Take the ferry to the island or walk around the block to the Irish place. I regret my visit.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant I have been to in years. It is however the best tourist trap I have ever seen. The only thing missing is a few racks of chotchkie's and a stand of personalized license plates. The place wasn't busy the night we arrived (December 27th). We were greeted at the door by a hostess(?) who shouted at us from halfway across the dining room. "How many in your party?" She finally approached us and took us to a booth with a filthy, graffiti carved table top. When we came in we were impressed with the names of the breweries listed (in two different places), and began looking forward to tasting some decent craft beers. Sadly the waitress was clueless about the tap offerings. Another waitress tried to help her out and explained that it was impossible for the staff to know what was available because, the "beers changed daily." The waitress did however take the time to tell us that one of the beers was old, unused stuff from this summer that had been brought back from the island. Yum! I eventually left our table and went to the bar to see what was available. While pleasant and friendly, the young woman behind the bar was clearly not prepared to pour or discuss the brews on tap. We finally ordered, and after waiting several minutes for our salad, asked the waitress if they would come before our meal. She said yes, and continued to clean menus. The salads did beat the meals to the table by a minute or so. When the meals came, they were both cold. The shrimp and perch both tasted old and mealy, and the butter refused to melt on the cold vegetables. The rolls were brought as an afterthought and had obviously seen better days. They too were cold, hard, and like the meals, virtually inedible. We would have complained, but no one was available. By the time our waitress came back to leave the ridiculously high bill we just wanted to leave. Overall the Dixie is a pretty place to visit. The structure and location are truly the best things about the place. If you want overpriced, sub-standard food, an unmotivated and poorly trained waitstaff; this may be the place for you. The offerings in Mackinaw may be limited, but take the time to look elsewhere. Be forewarned travelers. No stars for you Dixie. (Apparently one is needed for a valid post).

I see quite a few bad reviews and understand it. This place is "over done". it looks fantastic, great location, but the menu is overpriced badly. I would have liked to have a steak, but they've driven their prices up $8 minimum for everything beef. Too much. The inside is eclectic and loud, so I'm told. It is a tourist trap restaurant, indeed. However, I had a lovely experience here. I asked for a lemonade and red bull. The waitress was intrigued and I stated "or just combine them into a lemon bull" and she liked that and charged me just for the red bull. Great! I had a perch sandwich (really was perch!) and fries. It was decent. The service was slow... but productive, let's say that.

Terrible. The service was awful. The food was terrible. I ordered a cowboy burger and added bacon for an extra dollar. All that came was two buns and a burnt burger with rubbery bacon no lettuce tomato or cheese. We asked the waitress why it didn't have any of this and she didn't know but brought us out a plate with lettuce and Tomato. That was the last time we saw her during our meal. She snuck the bill on the table while we weren't paying attention. So we snuck out of there without tipping.

The place from the outside looks so nice but the service and food is not so nice. The chicken tenders were hot but awful. It was pressed chicken inside. Yuck. The fries were ok. When we originally placed our drink order, it took the waitress about 15 minutes to bring our Bud Lights. We wondered where did she have to go to get the beer! The waitresses were rude, bumping into people and not apologizing. This place definitely needs to change their food and service!

This was only our second meal in Mackinaw City so I can't compare to a whole lot. I had the rotisserie chicken which I found to be very tasty, accompanied by rice (can't really screw that up) and the vegetable melody that is served with every entree. All was good but I wasn't impressed with the veggies.. just a little on the soggy side (not a big deal) My husband had the Bronco Buster. One of the better steaks we've had and the mashed potatoes were pretty darn good too! Service was great! We sat on the 2nd floor and had a great view of the lake across the Shepler's ferry parking lot. However, we also got a good glimpse of the all dust covered cobwebs around the light fixtures and on our way down the stairs we also noticed several cobwebs on the inside of the windows. I hope the dirtiness of the dining area isn't a give way to the cleanliness of the kitchen where food is prepared! I guess the place just needs a good dust and vacuuming. Otherwise I have no complaints!

Lousy service, mediocre food. The menu looked great, but the 1/2 pound burger was small and not made from fresh ground beef. But worst of all was the service. Very slow and the waitress didn't care about anything. Then, on top of that, it was way overpriced. Skip this restaurant.

A restaurant manager these days knows that people are going to review it online, right? If your business gets enough one and two star reviews, one would hope that maybe something will eventually change. But maybe not, if you have a prime location, and are one of the only places in town that can seat a party of ten. We just had four, and the hostesses still crossed our names off the list before we were seated. Nothing from the previous reviews to add. It is loud, and it is crowded. The food is average, and I'm pretty sure that the prices on the menu don't match what I was charged. A customer complained about being "nickled and dimed" as they walked out the door. The wait was long, and the service and kitchen were extremely slow. The view from the second floor was about the only positive note, and the only reason this was not a single star review.

I sure wish we would have checked the reviews prior to coming. This restaurant is right in downtown Mackinaw City and from the outside, looks GREAT! Great location at the end of the street by the Ferry. Beautiful outside. When you walk inside, it's like a giant cabin. Wonderful decor and very inviting! After a 30 minute wait, my family of 5 was seated at a 4 person booth (side chair brought in, so I was actually sitting in the very busy aisle way). The perch platter ($20) was ok at best. The steak was bland, but with enough A1, edible. The fries were so old/greasy they weren't edible. Our waiter was sooooo busy that we didn't bother him with a request for newer, fresher fries. We couldn't get refills on drinks without having to flag him down as he zoomed to and fro. And don't even think about getting a dish cleared throughout your meal. Next time, we know better.

Food was good. Location great. Service ok. Comfortable seating for groups of four or less or more than 8. We had five and sat at table where one had to straddle a 14" board. We asked for more comfortable seating. Apparently they don't want groups of five because the hostess said they couldn't set us at a nearby table for six because we only had five. Really?!? Lousy. Unhappy after that.

Overpriced for one. Secondly, they were understaffed. We asked to sit upstairs for the view, but they didn't have enough people to cover it. But MOSTLY, the food was nothing I'd go back for. I ordered whitefish (cajun style...supposed to be spicy), with the redskin potatoes and the vegetable of the day. I got a large piece of bland fish, red skins that were crisp...not nearly cooked...and the vegetables were a frozen mushy medley. My daughter ordered macaroni and cheese....it was way too dry to eat, plus not very hot. My husband will eat any burger and didn't complain, but I could tell he wasn't impressed. The bill for 2 kids and 2 adults was $50.00 and 2 of us had water. Rip off.

Worst meal of entire trip and worst meal I've possibly EVER had.. Overcooked, dry chicken, half-cooked baked potato, and vegetables that were cold. Took over 30 minutes for new vegetables to be brought to my table and they were only luke-warm. No manager ever stopped by to ask how the meal was. The building is in a great location and has a nice view, but I will not eat here again.

Got a seat on second floor looking out over lake. Awesome view. Ordered wings and blackbean dip to start. Both ok. Chicken Caesar and and Fish and Chips for mains. Salad pretty good and really big. Fish and Chips ok. Service was fine on a Saturday at 1 pm. In summary, food was ok and view was spectacular.

We had good service and food but the prices seemed very touristy to say the least. No prices on the drink/beer menu and we were shocked to find a domestic beer on tap for $6 .... seriously. We settled for iced tea but on the way out noticed a special on three types of beer for $3, too bad out waitress didn't suggest this to my husband. It was also very loud, even though it is way off season and wasn't very busy. We both commented that it would be a sh-- show if full of people in summer, but then Darrows would be open. LOL

Our hotel suggested we check out the place..of course it was 10:45PM and nothing else was serving food still. We had some leftover chips and humus in our hotel but decided to give it a try. We ordered fried shrimp and chicken fingers and fries- two dishes nearly impossible to make wrong. It was one of the worst meals I've had for and for $32. Definitely a tourist trap..the bar seemed to be crowded. If I could do it again...I would have stuck with the chips and humus. Hostess was cute though. I would be happy if I never had to return.

The fish and chips are ahhh mazing and fresh. I had others things and they they were good but I but I always went back to the fish and chips I wouldn't recommend any thing else but this from here!! It's usually pretty busy and noisy but what do you expect from a bar, but not the typical bar food.

  • Tracy P.

Believe the reviews! Yuch! Horrible bean dip. Fresh salads but no non-fat or low calorie dressings. The diet Pepsi was really good. The inside decor is an odd mixture of beauty and trashy. I really can't recommend this place at all. It needs a new chef and manager.

  • Abbey S.

Ok, I'll admit that the dixie isn't amazing, but in Mackinaw City, your options are few and this is one of the more decent ones in my opinion. First of all, the building is lovely, made of logs, and has a great view of the lake. Karaoke night is fun. Fried fish is tasty and plentiful. Maybe Mackinaw has lowered my standards, but I've actually recommended this place to people as one of the better options. The Keyhole does have better food, but it is far less family friendly and scenic.

  • Jessica P.

This restaurant is NOT good. It is incredibly loud with kids and music and just a ton of noise throughout the two levels. Our server was young and friendly; nothing wrong there. The food was awful and rather expensive ($18 for fish and chips?!). My husband thought they were the worst fish and chips he's ever had. The table is carved completely with initials and things, which I suppose is part of the decor, but is really unsanitary. Bottom line is that the food is NOT good, but the other details (expensive, loud) make this a total bomb. We were wishing we had gotten fast food, which is not something that we ever ever say. Cheesy tourist trap, should be ashamed of itself.

On our way down south from pictured rocks to Detroit, my friends and I stopped in Mackinaw City for a bite. As we drove past Dixie, one of my buddies and I both immediately said "Been there, over priced, nothing special." So we looked for something else. Not a whole lot in downtown restaurant-wise. Ended up entering the Irish bar next to Dixie Saloon and surprise! they're connected. Shrugged the shoulders and decided to sit down upstairs in the Dixie to give it another try. Great interior, great view. This is where the positives end. Wait staff was kind but terrible. Overstaffed for the number of customers but had serious trouble getting help. Slow on drink order, slow to get 'em, wrong appetizer, never came back to check-up, extremely long time for our food, food (fish and burgers mostly) were not bad not great, one of our group did not get his order written down (oops!) and had to wait while we ate, ALL of our food was luke-warm at best....okay let me take a breath. Really, I promise this all happened in one visit... Obviously we wanted to talk to a manager - there was no manager present. That's right, no manager at 5:30 (note we got there at 4:00). Wrong bill (extra entree and waitress could not split it up as we asked, ended up pooling the tab and we did not all have cash). As we worked on the bill she would come back with new versions trying to correct the extra items and also give us a 10% discount for our troubles (this is the most she was able to do). She came back and the bill was $7 more! Gratuity was added... So we waited some more as we watched tables around us empty out their second sets of customers... After alerting 4-5 staff members that somebody better give us some real help or we might might walk out (illegal, I know), we eventually received help from a senior wait-staff (her name was Q) who was utterly helpful. She phoned the manager, took the gratuity off the bill and gave us an additional 30% off. We paid, left 5 for tip on a 120 bill (at the insistence of a former waiter in our group - most of us left nothing) and just under two hours later we were out. There was much mumbling how this ruined out trip (it didn't, we just finished an amazing hike through pictured rocks national forest), but needless to say we were bent out of shape. Whew! Don't go here! Maybe they will get new management in the future, but for now their service and food are very, very poor for the price. Ask a local in one of the shops where they eat! I'm sure the Dixie Saloon ain't the place.....

I have to say I had a better experience at this place than the other reviewers. Went there with five more friends for lunch on Saturday and the place was full but we got a table immediately. Food was average... can't really complain at all on the sand winch I had. Drinks were also good and the server was nice and friendly. Prices were also right. Not to bad of a restaurant at all!

Stopped here for lunch while visiting Mackinaw City. The outside looked nice, so we took a chance. It was midday on a Wednesday in September, so not very busy. We were seated right away, and immediately noticed that the restaurant had a kitschy graffiti theme. There was graffiti carved into tables, walls, windowsills, benches, chairs, pillars, you name it. Normally, this would not bother me, but the tables were so carved up that the wood table top had taken on a tacky, sticky feeling and was rather gross to eat off of. I ordered an entree salad and my spouse had rotisserie chicken. The salad was NOT fresh, in fact there were a lot of completely rotten leaves, slimy and really unappetizing. The chicken on the salad was fine, but I could not eat it, knowing it was sitting amongst rotting lettuce. As for my spouse's meal, the "rotisserie" chicken looked like the ones you get at the grocery store, only not as good. It was bland and tasteless. The veggies served with it were obviously frozen, and had been cooked until mushy. My spouse complained to the waitress on my behalf, and she offered a new salad. When she returned with it, she chirped "we opened a fresh bag of salad for you". Ummm...why wouldn't you do that in the first place? Who serves rotten food? I would never eat there again.

My wife and I went there the summer of '08. It was terrible. We hoped that we just had an isolated bad experience. She went there again a few weeks later with her parents to give it another try. HA! Its just a bad restaurant. I had walleye. I thought I was getting a filet. I got walleye flavored salt nuggets. It was gross. I hardly ate any of it and left the rest as to not harm any dogs with a doggy bag. My wife ordered some form of cheeseburger with everything. It was missing things like lettuce, tomato, and onion. We had to ask the very nice but very bad waitress for the rest of the cheeseburger. We waited far to long for her to return. The cheeseburger was bland except for the sawdusty taste. They have a decent beer selection. Nothing awesome just a larger selection of mediocre draught beer. I suggest going to the Keyhole Bar. Have dinner and few drinks. If you feel like a better view go over to the Dixie saloon, have a beer upstairs, don't order any food because you'll only ruin your evening, watch some ferries, chat with friends, leave, go back to the Keyhole and have a good time. 2 stars because the for 2 redeeming qualities. 1. 1 star for the view. Its a really good view 2. 1 star for its history. Dixie highway used to end at this spot. They are lucky they are were they are. Because its their location that is the only thing they have going for them. But 3. -1 star because I'm still angry.

To be fair, we did not eat here...just had a couple of beers. The service was great...the atmostphere was great for a married couple without kids (music was a bit loud). I really liked the roomy, bright feel of the place - LOTS of windows and bright light shining through...bar stools that look like saddles, high ceiling wood "cabin" with a huge loft upstairs that overlooked the first floor...pretty decent music - found myself singing along.

Hotel recommended we eat here that it was "kid friendly" odd...we spent $100 on the worst meal! It was ALL frozen food that had been reheated! Kid's menu was sad and no "kid" placemat. Lunch two days later at Nonna Lisa's was just as expensive but at least tasty! Don't eat here!!

We stopped in on our way back from Canada to Ohio. I kept telling myself that we should hit a small mom and pop style restaurant, but this place kind of pulls you in. The log cabin feel is really pretty and creates a cool atmosphere. However, I would never, ever visit this restaurant again. I ordered fish and chips, my staple anywhere near water....the fish was rubbery - so either it was not fresh or it was overcooked. I didn't complain, because I just didn't care - wanted to get back on the road again. Anyway, based on the other reviews, it looks like service and food are low on the totem pole. People will come for the atmosphere - The restaurant's motto should be "Build it and they will come.....and be unimpressed"

Visiting family near here, the wife and I took off on our own, there was a 10% coupon for this place, so we tried it. I wish I'd looked this up on Yelp before. My wife's red potato side was cold, and to be honest the shrimp I had is bettere at LJS or Red Lobster. Waitress didn't put enough ice in oour drinks. Prices are outrageous for what you get, but then they know it's mostly tourists coming in.

Took a day trip to Mackinaw Island. Once we got back and off the ferry we were ready for a bite to eat. The Dixie Saloon is located right outside the entrance of the Shepler boat ferry. Because it was convenient, looked decent and there are not a ton of choices, we decided to give it a chance. Given the fact that our trip was close to the 4th of July, needless to say they were busy. We put in our name and requested a table for 6. We were told 25 minutes for a table. There was not sufficient seating for those guest who are waiting. After around 35-40 minutes, my wife went back up to the "hostess" (term used loosely). She told my wife it would be another 10 minutes. After another 25-30 minute wait, my wife went up to the hostess again and expressed some disappointment at the prolonged wait. I noticed three of the hostesses were rather short with my wife. After she walked away to return to her seat, I noticed one of them rolling her eyes, etc. I was sitting at the bar and they obviously did not make the connection that she was my spouse (that should not have changed anything). Finally over an hour after we got into the restaurant we were given a table. There was no apology or offer to compensate us to make things right. After our meals were served cold and not as ordered I finally got the attention of Ed the assistant manager. Ed did comp two of our meals and assured me that he would take care of the staff. Somehow, I suspect that will not likely be the case, but who knows. At this point, I don't care cause I will never be back. Our food was cold, nothing special and above all exceeded in a couple of areas, being overpriced and expensive. I wish I would have read the other yelp reviews before getting jacked at the Dixie Lounge. Take my advice and pass on this dive. Not worth the hassle. Ed, if you read this review, please note not everyone on Yelp writes negative reviews. I had dinner in Traverse City tonight and the experience was awesome in every sense of the word. I will write that review next. As for your establishment, you earned this "glowing" review. P.S. Turn the damn music down in the bar and some of your guests who are waiting for a table may actually be able to hear the hostess. That or tie a mic into the sound systems so she isn't shouting. Your whole experience needs a lot, lot, lot of help.

When you read their website, you would think that the Dixie Saloon (in its current incarnation) has been around forever. Not true. The original Dixie Saloon became a Mc Donald's, and when the Mc Donald's closed (it was the only Mc D's in the nation that wasn't open year round, and finally just folded altogether) it was torn down to make way for the log-cabin-looking thing that was supposed to resemble the original Dixie Saloon. This new Dixie Saloon has no connection to the original, and was opened in the early 2000's (so don't be fooled by it's "history"). It is exactly what the others have stated: it's high on glitz and price and low on food quality, service, and atmosphere. Although I will say that the view is really nice, and the place is clean. Maybe worth having a drink or two while watching the sights then, like some of the other reviewers have suggested, heading over to the Keyhole.

    (1)
  • Dennis M.

One start for the view and because the ORIGINAL Dixie Tavern was built there years ago and then torn down to make way for a Mc D's. That was torn down an this sad attempt at reincarnating the Dixie was built there. Don't waste you money on the food, maybe a drink or two. Keyhole has was a favorite for the locals for years, Dixie was more for the fudgies anyhow.

I don't understand the negative reviews. The fish and chips were great and they have the Malt Vinegar already at the table. Even at a very busy time my waiter, Lucas, was calm, attentive, and friendly. The whitefish dip is what I always loved about this restaurant. Even my kid was quiet the entire meal enjoying her food. The reviewer complaining about fudge and popcorn must not understand that Mackinaw is primarily a tourist town. If you don't like it, feel free to not return. Everyone else loves the fudge! That's why we are Fudgies! No offense to Yelp, but people on here are becoming Negative Nancies with a way to be a jerk anonymously. -_-

Walking into the Dixie Saloon we, party of 7, were excited to be in Mackinaw City even though it was rainy and we couldn't get into our hotel room for a few more hours. No one greeted us even though at the host stand it said "please wait to be seated" so me being a server for over 8 years started to wonder through the restaurant. I saw plenty of tables that could seat our party of 7 but as soon as someone did come to seat us they took us all the way to the back of the establishment and sat us at a table meant for 5 comfortably and added a chair to the end. Us trying to squeeze into such a small table and didn't want to upset the host we asked for another chair only to get an eye roll in return along with a bad attitude. I then decided to ask for a bigger table, us not being the slimmest group and we wanted some elbow room. Again to get an even bigger eye roll and unhappy host. We talked about leaving but we didn't want to go back out in the rain. Finally sat at a table for 7 we found out our server was the host who had been not so friendly all along. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and our food was not so great. Would never go back again unless I had a child to see the cool decor. The server needed a serious attitude adjustment and if she couldn't handle our group, ask for another servers help, there were plenty of them standing around.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. We had the fish and chips and the shrimp basket. The fish was fresh and cooked well and also plenty of it. The tarter is good. The shrimp basket came with 13 pretty big beer battered shrimp and they were better that I expected. Fries were decent. Staff seemed helpful and friendly and the building was unique. We drank water but ate pretty well and only paid $32! Which I thought was a great bargain for the food we received. Great location too. Right next to all the like shops in Mackinaw City.

We had dinner here while on vacation, cool place we ate upstairs with a great view of the lake overlooking the ferry. I had ribeye Med rare not a complicated thing to fix It was cooked right except it had a burnt taste to it the cook should have cleaned the grill so it would not have a charred burnt taste , I give it five stars for atmosphere and the views.

Bartenders are slow. Sitting for 10 minutes waiting to be asked if I need a drink. Bartenders avoid contact with patrons.

Ordered a Bud light draft, waitress returned to tell me "just ran out"! Ordered onion ring appetizer, waitress forgot to place the order! Locals suggested perch platter, so-so. Will not go back.

Lousy food. Large portions of food where everything was greasy, had no taste...just bad. The service was mediocre. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed and kept getting things wrong or just forgot. The place was noisy and appeared chaotic. I would give negative rating if that was possible. One cannot expect a great culinary experience in a very touristic place but this place was really, really bad. Don't waste your money here.

This place has an amazing atmosphere and good craft beer but the food was less than impressive. The fish and chips rated the best came out dry and not even edible. Our server, Sue, was one of the best you could ask for tho. Would go back for drinks only.

Server was very friendly and quite a unique atmosphere. Very basic food, menu could use some revamping. Had the whitefish platter. Over seasoned and very thin fillet served with breakfast style red skinned potatoes.

If I could give it no stars I would, in professional staff, especially the bar tender Place is filthy , bathrooms are dark and smelly , far better places, try Pelston airport Restaurant if you want good food !! clean atmosphere .

Best steak we have had in ages. The waitress was really helpful and recommended us our meal and drinks based on our tastes! Great experience and great service. Totally recommended!

It was just ok. Definitely for tourists. Service was fair. The smoked whitefish dip was not good at all. The pulled pork was incredible. If looking for the typical tourist spot to go this is for you. Otherwise try another listed on yelp with more stars.

This is the biggest log cabin I have ever seen! I see how it's possible to get bad service due to the size of the place. We had Excellent burgers and the bartender was great!

I'll start off by saying my one star is only for the beautiful view from where we sat upstairs. The server took our drink order, came back over 5 min later with no drinks to take our order, we ordered and gave her a chance that she my of just forgot our drinks. After another 5 min, I had to get up and ask for our drinks. Our soup comes out with no spoon, we asked for one, server sends the bus boy up with one. It has hard caked on food on it. I had to get up again to find someone for a spoon. To eat my seafood chowder. Which let me say was the WORST I have ever had. Dinner comes out my whitefish looked like they dumped the whole bottle of seasoning on it and everything, I mean everything came out cold. Our meal was so bad that we didn't touch it, asked for a manager. Paid for our late drinks and nasty soup and left. We went to Nona Lisa down the road. 4 stars for them. I work in the food service industry, so I'm not one to normally complain. I understand things happen. But this was nothing I have ever experienced. I have no clue how this place ever gets repeat customers.
